Our client, a market leader distributing pumping & air compressor equipment, related process equipment, packaged pump and compressor systems. Operating from several locations across Canada, and represents a variety of world-class pump and compressor manufacturers. The company serves many different market sectors including Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Chemical & Petrochemical, Pulp & Paper, Municipal Water & Wastewater Treatment. Currently they are looking to add to their team the position of:
Skid Design Structural Engineer – Calgary
This Calgary based position will report to the Engineering Manager, you will act as a in-house technical consultant providing technical support to various groups including Project Engineering, Project Management, Estimating, Procurement & Production related to structural engineering of steel buildings & skids, and structural supports. You are able to prepare and stamp structural steel designs, produce professional Scope of Work and other engineering reports, and assist in the Manufacturing Record Book Plan.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have many of the following attributes:
- B. Sc Civil / Structural or Mechanical Engineering degree
- P. Eng designation with APEGGA
- 6 plus years progressive technical structural steel design skills & experience particularly with skids for various equipment packaged systems (i.e., W59, CSA 16.1B, etc..)
- Excellent computer skills, specifically CAD and engineering software and strong knowledge & experience with industry standards i.e., API, ASME, ASTM, OH&S, CWB, ASNI,…
- Skills & experienced working with ISO's and piping plans and sections
- Excellent problem solving abilities & can work with minimum supervision.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processed including fabrication, machining & assembly
- Have a successful track record or ability to work within a multi-discipline engineering team - i.e., sales, operations and procurement groups as well as vendors to produce manufacturing ready packages
