Our Client is an international mining organisation with a highly successful record in the development and management of world-class open cut and underground operations. They are an ASX listed Copper producer who are quickly establishing their name within the West Australian/Queensland mining industry. Their aggressive growth plans for this year have created the opportunity for a Senior Geologist and Project Geologist to join their team to help progress the company forward.
The role of Senior Geologist is primarily responsible for defining and extending mineral resources and developing mine geology procedures and standards on a copper project in North Queensland.
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Key accountabilities include:
� Resource modelling and estimation
� Planning and managing of resource and near deposit drilling programmes
� Liaising with consultant and contractors
� Monitoring QA/QC data and procedures
� Supporting Database management
� Mentoring and managing a group of geologists and field assistants
� Supporting and managing exploration work when required
� Developing companies mine geology procedures and standards
As the successful applicant you will demonstrate relevant experience in the mining industry. Strong communication skills are also beneficial along with IOGC experience.
Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential and MapInfo and Discover skills will be highly regarded. You will display strong problem solving and decision making capability with a professional level of design and planning skills.
