Construction Manager - E&I

MIE originated in 1975 as a leading instrumentation and electrical supplier, MIE has rapidly grown since being acquired in May 2005 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Monadelphous Group Ltd. MIE has the full backing and support that comes with a company the size of Monadelphous, which provides financial stability for our customers. We operate independently as a standalone division but benefit from the corporate support of our parent company.

Due to the continued success of MIE we required a Construction Manager to lead our team on the MOPU project. This upgrade to the current million ounce plant will increase total annual gold production by approximately 240,000 ounces per annum for the remaining life of mine.

The responsibility of this position is to ensure the construction is correctly planned and that all the necessary resources are obtained, allocated and managed to complete the project in a safe and timely manner as required by the contract.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Manage all aspects of the commercial, budgets/construction metrics, forecasting and change management
  • Develop and maintain key customer and stakeholder relationships
  • The overall planning and controlling of the designated project
  • Ensuring efficient use of labour resources and completion of site activities within budget estimates in terms of labour and materials
  • Supervise, coach and mentor direct reports
  • Review performance and mange any performance issues as per MIE procedures
  • Demonstrating outstanding leadership to the field construction team in all HSE matters
The successful candidate will have:
  • A relevant electrical trade or tertiary qualification
  • Solid experience working within the construction and resource industry
  • Strong understanding in Excellent interpersonal/verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an overseas environment
  • Have experience in delivering safe and reliable construction service solutions and is committed to the safety, wellbeing and development of employees.
This position will be FIFO to PNG on a 4:2 (weeks) roster and will offer an attractive remuneration package and benefits, including both short and long term incentives. MIE prides itself on creating an environment where people are valued, careers are developed and their efforts are rewarded.
