Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications - 3 Year Degree or Diploma in Extractive Metallurg (Essential).

Experience

• Minimum of eight (8) years operational experience in Metallurgical processes and services within a mining processing plant environment;
• Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in Metallurgical processes and services within a mining processing plant environment.

• Competent in managing Met Accounting and Management Information Systems;
• Track record in continuous improvement projects and Research & Development environment;
• Solid basis in setting up and maintaining blend and grade control programs;
• Computer literacy - Intermediate user of MS Office Suite;
• Knowledge of relevant legislation;

Management knowledge and skills;

• Action orientation competencies;
• Planning and organising skills;
• Verbal and written communication skills;
• Quality orientation competencies;
• Commercial awareness skills;
• Analytical skills.

Other Requirements

• A Valid Code B/EB driver's licence;
• Medically fit for duty;
• Preference will be given to applicants with experience in Iron Ore beneficiation.

Job Specification

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

To plan, evaluate and measure performance of the production processes and to conduct tasks within the metallurgical environment to provide information for efficient and cost effective production, which includes:

• Metallurgical accounting and management information systems;
• Process improvement and - optimization;
• Manage blend/grade control programs;
• Liaising interdepartmentally;
• People management;
• SHERQ and compliance;
• Work Ethics.

APPOINTMENT

• Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.

OTHER INFORMATION

• The successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company's Code of Practice - Minimum standards of fitness to perform work at a Mine. 
• He/she may also undergo a psychometric assessment.
• The above mentioned position is D2 on the Patterson band grading system. 
• The successful candidate that conforms to all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading.
• Should the successful candidate not conform with all said requirements and experience, but are nonetheless regarded as suitable for appointment to the position, he/she will be appointed on a lower more appropriate grading, until successful achievement of required competencies and skills.
• Appointment of successful applicants in positions will be done in line with the Employment Equity plan of the mine.
