Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12;
  • Certificate in SHEQ Lead Auditing;
  • Certificate in ISO 9001;
  • Certificate in Risk Management will serve as an added advantage;
  • Minimum of Five years ISO Systems experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Quality Officer or Risk Officer;
  • A valid code B/EB drivers license.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Must be computer literate in MS Office, Visio and Project;
  • Working knowledge of MHSA, Legal registers, COP's, SP's and OHSA;
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001, 9001 & OHSAS 18001;
  • Influencing Skills;
  • Interpersonal Skills;
  • Planning and Organising Skills

Job Specification

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE, INTER ALIA:

  • Report to management and other stake holders any quality and business risks or obligation that may impact financially on operations to enable decision making;
  • Identify potential and manifested quality and business risk assessments regarding identified stressors;
  • Develop and implement preventative or monitoring strategies;
  • Evaluate results of preventative or monitoring strategies and develop control programs if an when required in conjunction with subject matter experts and line management;
  • Monitor stressors on quality management system and provide advisory services to affected business operations to minimise negative impact;
  • Compile and evaluate trends in monthly SHERQ communication and refer deviations to relevant personnel for corrective action;
  • Draft risk and quality strategy for operation submit to immediate superior for approval, manage or monitor implementation of strategy, liaise with stakeholders regarding progress and recommended remedial actions where necessary;
  • Continuously upgrade integrated ISO management systems with specific focus on quality and risks;
  • Monitor and measure integrated ISO management system with a specific focus on quality and business risks;
  • Develop, implement and maintain the integrated risk management system with the focus on the ISO 9001 and ensure follow ups on recorded deviations of monitor and measurement and talk topics are auctioned or implemented;
  • Identify customer needs and advise customers on implementation of SHERQ related interventions;
  • Measure customer satisfaction to determine remedial actions to be implemented;
  • Liaise with service providers to ensure system functionality to ensure user or system problems are addressed timely. (i.e. Isometrix, Achiever, Implex);
  • Update SHERQ risk profile and ensure implementation of management plans according to significant risks by providing internal customer service and advisory service;
  • Review SP's within own scope of responsibility provided guidelines are met;
  • Assist in developing, implementation and maintenance of process maps;
  • In consultation with various specialists coordinate the implementation of permit conditions into risk management system to ensure compliance at all times;
  • Ensure legal register maintenance and functionality and implementation of other requirements into the system are continuously updated;
  • Ad hoc, any other reasonable duties as and when requested from time to time.
  • The successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company's Code of Practice - Minimum Standards of Fitness to perform work at a Mine. 
  • He/she may also undergo a psychometric assessment.
  • The above
  • mentioned position is C5 on the Patterson grading system. 
  • The successful candidate that conforms to all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading. 
  • Should the successful candidate not conform with all said requirements and experience, but is nonetheless regarded as suitable for appointment to the position, he/she will be appointed on a lower more appropriate grading, until successful achievement of required competencies and skills.
