Minimum Requirements

  • N2 Rigging
  • N3 Certificate
  • Supervisory Qualification
  • Rigger / Ropesman Trade Test
  • Up to 3 years as Rigger Supervisor

Job Specification

  • Rigging Services - Supervision of:
  • Alignment, levelling and anchoring of machinery.
  • Fabricate, set up and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, by using hand and power tools.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists and pulling gear to move or support heavy equipment.
  • Ensure all legal winder rope inspections are done according to standards.
  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities and work schedules.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material.
  • Ensure all lifting equipment is regularly tested in accordance to the relevant SANS standards.

Reports

  • Compile work priority list and resource requirements
  • Accurate shift and work order reports; and communicate resource requirements.
  • Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports; 
  • Allocated work orders sign-off; job cards and description of work and spares used
  • Role administration requirements completed and communicated
  • Planned maintenance schedules and ad hoc reports.
  • Crane Operations 
  • Customer relations
  • Maintain relations with internal customers to ensure departmental needs are met and colleagues are satisfied.
  • Provide relevant and specialised technical support to applicable stakeholders.
  • SHREQ
  • Enhance safety awareness throughout working area.
  • Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition.
  • Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • PPE is worn during shift and safety rules and regulations adhered to.
  • Declaration of safe working place.
  • Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to.
