Port Waratah Coal Services Limited (PWCS) is located in the Port of Newcastle and through its Terminals at Carrington and Kooragang Island, operates the world’s largest export coal handling operation.
Our shiploading capacity exceeds 113 million tonnes annually and provides coal receival, stacking, reclaiming and shiploading services for the Hunter Valley export coal industry.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a robust coal chain to capitalise on the growth of PWCS’ world-class operation. This is an influential role with outstanding long-term career potential at an exciting time of considerable expansion to our operations.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you’ll lead and support the Live Run team within our Logistics department to drive greater and more effficient coal throughput. This will require you to promote a ‘Zero Harm’ culture, lead team members and manage operations scheduling. You will also manage vessel loading performance and the time, cost, quality, safety and environmental aspects of critical projects.

Leadership and communication skills coupled with experience influencing a team in an operations or logistics environment are essential. Similarly, strong working knowledge of the coal chain, rail operations or shipping industry is required. Solid understanding of operational plant and equipment used in materials handling is important. Relevant tertiary qualifcations or equivalent experience and superior skills in project management and process improvement are highly desirable.
