Carpentaria Gold Pty Ltd (A subsidiary of Resolute Mining Ltd) operates a gold operation near the historic town of Ravenswood, 120km south west of Townsville or 90km east of Charters Towers. The operation consists of an underground mine, and a 1.5Mt per annum processing plant. We are currently seeking an outstanding individual to join our Health, Safety, Environment and Training team in the multi-function role of:

Environmental Officer

The position offers a competitive salary package as well as an attractive roster. This position reports to the HSET Manager and supports a number of environmental functions on site. This is an entry level position which would ideally suit a recent graduate. All appropriate training will be provided.

To become part of this dynamic team you will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation
Ability to clearly understand statutory environmental obligations
Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or related degree
Well developed written and verbal communication skills
Solid working background and strong focus on safety
Experience in the mining industry is favourable but not essential

In this role your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Ensuring compliance with legal requirements including environmental licences and permits
Support ongoing development, implementation and improvement of the site’s Environmental Management Plans
Providing technical advice and assistance to the HSE&T team
Monitoring, analysis and reporting of critical environmental aspects
Assist in execution of environmental projects
Promoting environmental awareness throughout the workforce

This is a Drive in / Drive out role based in the Townsville-Charters Towers district.

The Company provides single persons accommodation and messing in Ravenswood and a daily bus service from Charters Towers.
Conditions of employment will be discussed at the interview.
Remuneration will be negotiated on the basis of qualification and experience.
A copy of current qualifications must be provided at the time of interview.
