Project Auditor

DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:

• The successful candidate will be the Project Auditor for the Mine Project. 
• The position will originally be based in Johannesburg (+-2 years), with travelling to the Mine in Limpopo on a regular basis.
• It is envisaged that as the project progresses there could be a requirement to relocate to Limpopo.
• The Project Auditor will conduct various project assurance assignments to provide risk based assurance to various stakeholders. 
• The Project Auditor will be regarded as a key member of the Project team, with a reporting relationship to the Group Internal Audit to ensure independence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and successfully deliver various scheduled and ad hoc audit assignments as per the risk based audit coverage plan for the Project.
• Assist with the development and updating of a risk based assurance plan for the Project.
• Effectively engage and communicate with the project team and other stakeholders.
• On an ad hoc basis, conduct assurance assignments across the Group of Companies.
• Co-ordinate the combined assurance plan for the Project.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• B Com degree with Financial Accounting and Auditing as majors.
• CIA qualification will be preferable.
• A formal Project Management qualification will be advantageous (e.g. PMP).
• A minimum of 4 years internal auditing experience is required.
• Experience in a project environment is required.

SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

• An essential requirement is the ability to complete the entire audit cycle with minimum levels of supervision within the allocated time and to the required quality standards of the Group Internal Audit.
• The ability to conduct multiple assignments concurrently.
• Deliver sustained high standards of professional internal auditing.
• Have a sound understanding of project management and project controls.
• Energetic, self-starter and strong personal effectiveness (time management).
• Sound interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong analytical capability.
• Strong planning, organising and co-ordinating skills.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
