HR Officer

My client, a global engineering specialist EPC services provider, is urgently seeking an HR Officer. 

Job Specification

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • HR Diploma, degree is preferable
  • 5 - 10 years’ relevant experience

Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:

  • The main focus will be on coordination of staff, recruiting/liaising with brokers, ability to deal with large numbers of staff on mobilisation day (this is not an office HR position - it is site based only)
  • An IR background would be an advantage but the person needs to have more recruiting/HR background as opposed to just IR knowledge
  • Shut down experience is preferable
  • The position would be to start in Secunda for 3 months and then move on to Sasolburg
  • This person would need to prove themselves in order to make them semi-permanent however this is not guaranteed
  • Rate per hour from R100/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Mobilise all DFL and IFL personnel to site on time and efficiently
  • Arrange and maintain housing for employees
  • Facilitate interviews, disciplinary & inductions
  • Adhere to HR policies and procedures as per IMS requirements
  • Update labour database on a regular basis      
  • Ensure all documentation pertaining to new employees is correctly completed and captured
  • Manage Appraisal process throughout the year. (Pre/Post and mentorship)
  • Provide input into the budget preparations with commercial
  • Proper reconciliation of accounts under HR control (HDM / IC Health / Hostel / housing etc.)
  • Co-ordinate all site required training and competency testing
