Cell Technician

Job Description

• [Company] in Eden Prairie, MN has an immediate opening for 2 Cell Technicians on the weekend shifts.

The primary responsibilities for the position are:

• Set up, operate and perform light maintenance on a variety of CNC machining centers.
• Schedule parts through the work cell.
• Set up, adjust, and review programming.
• Edit programs as required by operating instructions, job orders, tooling instructions and process control charts.
• Perform fixture setups for varying order requirements.
• Perform tool preset when needed and the corresponding tool offsets.
• Perform minor routine preventative maintenance and replenish oils and coolants as needed.
• Perform routine cell operating housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as required, including training.
• Inspect all parts per the operation instructions.
• Follow all plant, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, the [Company] Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.
• Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.

Attributes of a successful Cell Technician include:

• Use of simple arithmetic, drawings, specifications, and simple measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret operating instructions and/or blueprints to assemble parts.
• Basic knowledge of machinery.
• Ability to work any shift, at least 40 hours per week.
• 5. Ability to use various types of precision gages, measuring and inspection equipment.
• 6. Knowledge of CNC programming language, and use.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

• High school diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited school.

In addition, at least one of the following:

• Two + years machine operating experience, including 6 months CNC machine operation;
• Two years of vocational schooling in machining, including CNC operation;
• Accepted and actively participating in [Company] Machinist Apprenticeship Program.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles will be considered for this position.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
