Project Engineer IV

Position Summary:

  • This position manages and/or coordinates project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensures the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project.

Principle Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fully executes all general engineering duties on a large sized project or executes the same nature of duties for a segment of larger, more complex project.
  • Supervises the work of other project engineers on large projects when needed.
  • Executes project elements in accordance with the scope of the contract.
  • Executes project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems.
  • Practices compliance with established safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits throughout all phases of the project.
  • Coordinates efforts of technical disciplines to achieve integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements.
  • Manages design efforts with vendors and licensors to achieve proper and complete integration
  • Participates in work sharing in accordance with distributed execution plan between multiple offices.
  • Reviews project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting functional organization managers and/or subcontractors.
  • Contributes to the creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitoring activities, progress, and milestones against the plans.
  • Supports coordination between design, procurement, material management and construction on technical and schedule requirements.
  • Compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and global standards.
  • Travels to attend business related matters.
  • Meets expectations on attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally favorable indoor office workspace
  • On-site project workspace which may include moving, mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and various levels of outside weather requiring the proper use of PPE.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited 4-year degree/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applicable field of study
  • Seven (7) years of work-related experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of EPC industry experience
  • Experience includes the performance of functional tasks on projects with a basic understanding of procedures and interfaces
  • Because of Fluor’s global scope, project or unit management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended
