Manager, Financial Reporting

A mining company listed on the TSX is currently recruiting for a Manager of Financial Reporting.

Since inception the company has been experiencing positive results in exploration, and subsequently it is time for the addition of this newly created position.

Ideal candidates will be a self-motivated Chartered Accountant with 5 to 10 years of experience. They should have prior experience working within the mining industry, and must be comfortable with all aspects of financial reporting for a publicly traded company.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly reporting and consolidation including monthly reconciliations and working papers;
• Preparation of the quarterly financial statements;
• Preparation of the quarterly MD&A;
• Designing monthly consolidated reporting packs;
• Preparation of company budgets and co-ordinating budgets inputs for the subsidiaries;
• Documenting processes to meet 52-109 requirements and ensuring that best practice is implemented;
• Dealing with auditor queries;
• Ad hoc Projects

Requirements:

• Canadian CA designation with 5 to 10 years of experience in mining (either currently with a mining company, or within the mining group in public practice)
• Strong understanding of core accounting practices and principles
• Proven track record with financial reporting for publicly traded companies (particularly within a fast paced and time sensitive environment)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)
