Electrical Project Engineer

Our client is a global Engineering, Procurement, Management & Construction Company, established in 1976 and today operating in North and South America, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Former Soviet Union.  They provide services to End Clients, Project Management Construction companies, Engineering Procurement Construction companies and Plant System & Equipment Suppliers.

Our client is currently looking for an experienced ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER to supervise and coordinate project work in accordance with contract conditions and working within budget and time constraints to ensure customer satisfaction for the Kearl Oil Sands Project located 70 km north of Fort McMurray.  This is a project jointly owned between Imperial Oil (Operator) and ExxonMobil Canada. Upon completion this project will be one of Canada's largest open -pit mining operations with regulatory approval for up to 345,000 barrels a day of production.  This is not a contract position only those individuals open to a permanent staff position need apply.  All accommodations, Meals and Transportation supplied

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assign work to Site Engineers in accordance with Company's policies and procedures and limits of authority
  • Monitor and control expenses related to project work and ensure organizational forecasts and budgets are met for these expenses
  • Supervise procurement activities relating to contracts and sub contracts in accordance with Company's Procedures and Procurement department activities
  • Undertake team briefings and inception activities to ensure all aspects of work are understood by all concerned parties
  • Ensure safety standards and procedures are implemented and followed in accordance with contract requirements and Company guidelines
  • Undertake QC reporting interaction with other departments of Company and clients to assure production schedules and deliveries are met
  • To be responsible and report on the scheduling of man/material movements for all aspects of construction and or maintenance activity
  • To act as a liaison with contractors and clients managing any work interfaces and enhancements to project scope
  • To review and evaluate technical submittals and shop drawings prior to submission to consultants and clients according to required project standards
  • To assist the Project Manager in preparation of Sub Contract agreements

Requirements:

  • 10-15 years experience on Oil and Gas projects
  • Experience in leading Electrical teams from defining systems, producing systems work packages, performing MV/LV Testing, and Systems Turnovers
  • Materials Technical Review and Approvals, Field Routing Design, Cable Sizing, MV/LV Installations Confirms and verifies, project specifications with the requisitioned materials
