Geologist

My clients one of the world leading Operators have an immediate and very urgent requirement for an experienced Geologist to come on board their team where you would be sat in their offices in the heart of Stavanger Norway.

The position is being offered on an initial 6 month contract basis however view of extension beyond then is highly probable.

Within this role the Geologist would be responsible to participate and develop their own operator licenses, follow up partner-operated licenses and work with license round applications.

My clients are looking for people with the following attributes / skills:

- 8-10 Years relevant experience in exploration of which at least five years from the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the Norwegian Sea in particular.
- Experience in round work and preparation of applications in licensing rounds
- Experience with the use of various tools and applications for interpretation of seismic data - preferably Landmark.

Ability to:


- Integrate and analyze large amounts of data to identify and assess the prospects.
- Follow up geological studies
- Carry out structural and stratigraphic studies independently and with geophysicist / petro-physicist.
- Work in an international environment and share information with our global exploration Department.

A degree would be advantageous although not essential.
