Are you our next Shift Supervisor – Material Handling?

• We are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor-Material Handling for our Bartow, Florida location.   This position is responsible for safe and environmentally sound day-to-day continuous production activities to support the continuous operations of the plant in terms of Material Handling/Shipping activities. Includes all facets of production supervision namely hourly employees, product quality, safety, environmental, railroad and raw material management. Assist on the implementation of process improvements or capital projects as needed. Assist with employee training and qualifications.  The position is a liaison between management, shift operations and maintenance.

What will you do?

• Maintain safe and environmentally sound operating conditions for product shipment and storage within equipment design parameters.
• Lead, schedule, coach, train, and develop hourly employees as needed (incl. safety and environmental).
• Facilitate ongoing communication between shifts and management to ensure proper and efficient shipping operation,  product quality, allocation of resources, safety and environmental. Be very aware of customers’ needs.
• Work with operations and maintenance to troubleshoot and address operational problems in the plant to maximize production and safety. Assist in the implementation of process improvements or capital projects.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and 5 years work experience or equivalent plant experience –OR- BS Degree in Engineering/Technical discipline and 1 year work experience.
• Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and understand the daily operations of a department within an industrial facility.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a chemical plant with experience supervising others.
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance.
• Ability to engage others a must.
• Understanding of excel, Maximo, Pi, OIS, Microsoft Office suite, Kronos a plus.
• This position requires a combination of several supervisory skills and styles to get results through others.
• Strong communication skills are a necessity.
• Organizational skills in a fast paced / high stress environment are required.
• Flexibility a must.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
