Site Remediation Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Manages O&M for multiple remediation systems in the Baltimore Washington D.C. metropolitan area including all aspects of scheduling, maintenance, system sampling, etc.
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting single phase and three phase electrical circuits, and process control circuits.
  • Provides efficient and quality routine monitoring and preventative maintenance of operating remediation systems.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing O&M schedules following O&M manuals and manufacturer’s recommendations for maintenance. 
  • Works with engineers to select correct replacement equipment.
  • Orders, receives, and checks replacement equipment and new equipment as needed working directly with vendors.
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to junior staff assisting with O&M activities.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors, to assist with responding to unplanned system shutdowns.
  • Performs groundwater monitoring/sampling and soil vapor well sampling.
  • Performs soil sampling when needed.
  • Oversees direct push soil sampling contractors.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of applicable hands on experience performing O&M.
  • Must have experience working with environmental remediation systems; industrial maintenance; or other operations utilizing Industrial electrical systems, blowers, pumps, motors, etc.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and control problems.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings, equipment schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Experience with soil vapor extraction systems preferred.
  • Adherence to all safety and quality requirements is strictly required and must be maintained at all times.
  • HS Diploma or GED required. Technical School Graduate desired.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with current 8 hour refresher.
  • Basic computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
  • Must have valid Maryland driver’s license
  • Waste Water Operator Certification / License Preferred
