Geologist/Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- [Company] is looking for a Professional Geologist/Project Manager to lead multiple projects involving the design and implementation of environmental investigations and consulting services to municipal, commercial and private industrial clients in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia and Delaware.
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate closely with client and regulatory agencies to establish and implement cost-effective site investigation and remediation plans based on individual site conditions and potential risks.
- Manage small to medium size site investigation and remediation projects at hazardous waste sites, Voluntary Cleanup sites, petroleum-impacted sites, industrial sites, and landfills. Clients are private, state agencies, and municipal.
- Lead or participate in design of site investigation plans, groundwater modeling, remediation feasibility studies, and groundwater data interpretation.
- Manage junior and mid-level staff and provide on-going training and mentoring.
- Develop and manage project budgets according to scope, schedule, and client expectations.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Geology or Hydrogeology
- Must have or be able to obtain Professional Geologist License
- Minimum of 10 years of site assessment and remediation experience with consulting engineering firms
- Certified OSHA 40-hour hazardous worker training
- Successful track record of managing multiple projects across a diverse client portfolio
- Experienced with groundwater pumping tests, advanced groundwater investigation techniques, monitoring well and recovery well design, UST/service station investigation and remediation, and Phase I/II services.
- Demonstrated capability to oversee, manage and mentor junior staff
- Experience with private industrial sites preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong consideration would be given to candidates experienced with O&M management of pump and treat remediation systems, dual-phase extraction systems and monitored natural attenuation
- The following experience is preferred: groundwater modeling, landfill gas monitoring, landfill groundwater monitoring, ASTM Phase I, and source water protection surveys
