Job Description

  • [Company] is an employee-owned company of environmental professionals who specialize in natural and cultural resource management, environmental planning, and regulatory compliance.
  • We are seeking a Contracts Analyst for our corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a newly created position that will join our high performing Finance team. The Contracts Analyst will analyze and review client contracts and provide guidance to associates of all levels on contractual related matters. This role is also responsible for providing sensitive legal and financial information required for proposals and coordinate with consulting staff to build labor rates and other pricing-related requirements. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Director of Finance/Risk Management. Pay will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

Required Skills

  • Independently review and redline client contracts to ensure contract language meets SWCA standards; includes pricing, markups, and payment terms; and removes or mitigates any one-sided terms and conditions to meet company standards;
  • Coordinate with consulting and marketing staff to ensure all contracts are reviewed in a timely manner;
  • Proactively manage communications and follow-up with the consulting staff to ensure best customer service and visibility of the end-to-end contract processes;
  • Review executed contracts to ensure consistency with final agreed upon terms and conditions;
  • Responsible for building contract-specific labor rates when required (i.e., government projects that require raw rate + overhead + profit);
  • Respond to information requests from consulting staff regarding sensitive legal and financial information for proposals and other client requirements;
  • Act as project budget template owner and maintain/modify important boilerplate as needed;
  • Use Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) knowledge to ensure contracts meet SWCA and government standards;
  • Work closely with company leadership to maintain GSA contract and Master Service Agreements;
  • Work closely with all levels of staff to promote SWCA’s business interests in adherence to its Mission, Vision, and Values; and,
  • Other general, risk management, and financial duties, as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • A minimum of two years of contract administration experience required.
  • Familiarity with contract language typically used in service contracts for consulting (i.e., environmental consulting, architecture, engineering, construction, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize and organize complex, multi-faceted contracts under time constraints and multiple deadlines.
  • Understanding of Fixed Price and Cost-type contracts.
  • Understanding of Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements.
  • GSA/FAR/DFARS and other federal contract experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Service Contract Act (SCA) is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and team-based approach.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
  • High work standards and attention to detail.
  • Excellent follow-up and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Strong internal and external customer service orientation.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required, including database functions and advanced formatting.
