- Working primarily with professionals in the air quality group, the Engineer/Scientist will perform engineering and/or scientific tasks of a routine nature. The selected individual will work on a variety of technical projects, from design through investigation and construction observation and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Compiling and reviewing site specific technical data and documenting for management review.
- Preparing technical reports, environmental permit applications, permit conditions and various compliance related reports.
- Researching applicable regulatory requirements.
- Developing emissions calculations.
- Assisting in proposal efforts as directed.
- Assisting with the preparation of labor/material estimates and design/permitting packages for clients.
- Implementing safe work practices.
- Collecting and compiling field data as required.
- Comparing field site data to regulatory standards for compliance and some minor engineering design work.
- Providing other entry level duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering or scientific discipline
- 0-2 years’ experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience and/or education in air quality regulatory programs preferred
- Studies/experience with greenhouse gas audits/emission reduction techniques is desirable but not required.
- Technical savvy with CAD knowledge and extensive experience with MS Office (Word & Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (including technical writing skills)
- Willing and able to travel for field assignments as required, which may involve working under heat and cold stress, or other adverse conditions for extended periods of time.
- Must be authorized to work in personal protective equipment including respirator.
- Lifting of equipment of 25-50 lbs. may be required.
- Must pass OSHA HAZWOPER training.
- Valid driver’s license as some travel is required.
