Job Description
- We are seeking a Senior Recruiter for our corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. This position will focus on providing strategic, full life cycle recruitment support primarily for mid to high level positions in the environmental industry which includes technical, scientific and corporate professionals. Support is provided centrally from the corporate office for all SWCA locations. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Human Resources Director.

Required Skills
- Lead efforts to develop innovative and diverse recruiting strategies and best practices, especially for technical and tough-to-fill roles;
- Network through industry contacts, association/professional memberships, trade groups, and employees to establish relationships within the environmental consulting industry, coach hiring managers to develop similar skills;
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting;
- Work closely with team members to implement and coordinate recruiting/HR initiatives (e.g. campus recruiting and training for hiring managers);
- Improve organizational attractiveness by utilizing/maximizing use of social media and recommending improvement to career web site content such as videos and employee testimonials;
- Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need through efficient use of the applicant tracking system (ATS), our employee referral program, networking, cold calling, and other techniques;
- Develop and foster ongoing collaborative and effective working relationships with office operations to support their recruiting requirements;
- Coach hiring managers to help with their recruiting and selection skills and ensure compliance with appropriate employment laws, regulations and corporate policies;
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings with hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation;
- Review job posting requests and discuss requirements and qualifications with hiring managers;
- Screen a high volume of resumes, evaluate applicants and schedule interviews;
- Develop and conduct position specific pre-screening interviews to discuss job requirements and work experience;
- Assist in performing reference and background screens for potential employees;
- Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the ATS as well as maintain integrity of recruiting processes;
- Manage national search efforts utilizing third party search firms, as applicable;
- Mentor recruiting specialist and hiring managers to develop skills and share best practices; and
- Recruit for hourly and seasonal employees during peak hiring cycles and as back-up to recruiting specialist.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience with recruiting mid to high level professionals.
- Experience with recruiting scientists, planners, and technical professionals highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience developing and using social media for recruiting.
- Demonstrated experience with implementing/coordinating college recruiting or similar programs.
- Demonstrated experience with fostering relationships with diversity organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to function/recruit on a national, multi-location level.
- Required proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ATS software. Experience with OpenHire is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and train peers and partners.
- Self-directed with the ability to handle a high volume workload while maintaining attention to details.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels, technical disciplines and interpersonal styles.
- Use of strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to use tact and diplomacy in day to day interactions with all levels of staff up to and including senior management.
