Project Environmental Engineer

Job Duties:

  • Work with team practicing hydrogeologic and quantitative analysis established in the San Francisco Bay Area. Required to provide environmental science and engineering consulting services with specialization in groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling to manage groundwater resources, quantify surface water-groundwater interaction, and evaluate remedial alternatives for contaminated sites. Specifically, required to apply numerical models for evaluating spatial and temporal variations in groundwater flow and contaminant transport in complex groundwater systems. Apply quantitative expertise in hydrogeology to a wide range of environmental remediation projects including site characterization, groundwater flow and contaminant fate and transport analyses, remediation planning and design, and remediation system operation and maintenance. Perform any other tasks or assignments within this field of endeavor identified as employee's responsibility on projects, including communication with clients, interface with regulatory agencies and subcontractors, and mentoring junior staff. Job requires short trips to project sites; usually day trips but also occasional overnights.

Minimum requirements:

  • Masters in Environmental Engineering or related Environmental Science and at least 24 months of experience as an environmental engineer or related field. 
  • Skills: Qualifying experience must include significant experience with in-situ remediation, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling. 
  • Proficiency required in MODFLOW, MT3DMS/RT3D, and in either Visual MODFLOW or Groundwater Vistas. 
  • Valid driver's license required. Full-time. If hired, must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S.

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
  • This position does not manage others.
