Principal Environmental Scientist

[Company] seeks a senior environmental professional to complement our existing leadership in Alaska.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and lead existing regulatory affairs for natural resource development projects that include mining, on- and offshore oil and gas and government projects.
  • Lead teams preparing pre NEPA and NEPA documents for clients and lead federal agencies.
  • Expand existing state and leverage existing federal contracting tools for increased market share in government funded projects.
  • This is a senior level position with significant opportunity for leadership and professional growth

Skills:

  • Detailed understanding of federal and State of Alaska regulations essential including pipelines.
  • Experience in renewable energy projects desirable.
  • Must be a person who comes with energy and innovation as a key skill set.

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Experience: at least 12 years’ experience in environmental consulting including at least 5 years in a management position in Alaska
  • Experience in oil and gas, mining, and government market sectors
  • Education required: Bachelors degree in Biological or Environmental sciences
  • Education preferred: Masters degree in Biological or Environmental sciences
  • Registrations/Certifications preferred: NWS Certification
  • Special considerations, specific technical experience, skills, etc.: Extensive Alaska experience and contacts
  • Highly motivated, self-driven
  • This position this position does require travel. Travel amount is 15%
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
