Water Resources Engineer 1
The Water Division of [Company] is currently searching for an experienced Water Planning Engineer with design and planning experience for projects in our Houston, TX office.
Position includes, but is not limited to:
- Duties will include working as part of a team and through individual efforts to develop water treatment planning, process evaluations, flow/mass balance modeling, hydraulic modeling, pilot testing, site investigations, analysis, and preliminary designs, for municipal and industrial water/wastewater projects.
- Perform process and design calculations related to studies and plant design projects.
- Experimental design and set-up. Coordinate and construct pilot facilities.
- Process troubleshooting and optimization.
- Pilot testing/bench scale testing/laboratory analysis of conventional and advanced water treatment technologies.
- Read and summarize technical reports regarding industrial and municipal water related issues.
- Perform facility sizing calculations, develop conceptual site layouts and conceptual cost opinions.
- Analyze data including water quality, technology evaluations and plant operations information.
- Conduct site visits, condition assessments and performance evaluations of municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities.
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to perform theoretical investigations as well as practical work in the field.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of project teams.
- Ability to balance multiple assignment and activities to meet project deadlines.
Basic and Required Qualifications:
- Minimum years of experience: 0-3 years of experience in Water Planning.
- Education required: Bachelors Degree Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
- Registrations/Certifications required: EIT or desire to test for it within 1 year of start date.
- Skills required: Educational or professional experience with treatment technologies, water quality, water/wastewater treatment planning and process projects. Basic process and design calculations skills. Basic field activities coordination skills.
Additional and Preferred Qualifications:
- Education preferred: Masters degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Registrations/Certifications preferred: EIT or desire to test for within 1 year of hire.
- Skills preferred: UV experience a plus
- This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
- This position does not manage others.
