Project Environmental Engineer

[Company] seeks an experience Environmental Engineer/Associate Project Manager to assist Project Managers with schedule, budget, scope, and execution of soil and groundwater remediation projects for existing [Company] clients. The position will require managing technical aspects of environmental assessment and remediation projects, providing staff direction and technical support to commercial chemical, retail petroleum and/or infrastructure improvements, field investigation activities, EH&S auditing activities, data management and report preparation. Must be capable of working independently, managing small teams and managing projects to budget within time constraints. This position includes significant direct interaction with highly valued [Company] clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior client service and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing engineering evaluations and preparing design documents for environmental remedial actions in complex geologic settings including fractured bedrock
  • Writing complex environmental reports such as HSRA CSRs and CAPS, GUST CAP A and CAP B reports, and monitoring reports for remediation sites
  • Supervising system design and hydraulic testing
  • Supervising UST removals and soil excavation projects
  • Experience with investigation and remedial actions/cleanup of hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents
  • Managing due diligence (Phase I ESAs) on large industrial or commercial sites, including multiple site transactions
  • Preparing proposals and cost estimates for new work
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors
  • Communications with clients and regulars
  • Special considerations include strong writing skills and interest in both technical and financial aspects of projects. Local candidates only; no candidate travel or relocation reimbursement for this position.

Basic and Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum years of experience: 8 years related to environmental engineering; 5 years Georgia EPD experience required.
  • Education required: BS degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registrations/Certifications required: EIT ' Georgia

Skills required:

  • Well developed and direct experience with multiple remedial technologies utilized for soil, groundwater, and fractured rock remediation; strong data interpretation and report writing skills required, strong hydraulic and remediation pilot testing experience; demonstrated remediation system design, installation, and operation experience.

Additional and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education preferred: MS degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
  • Registrations/Certifications preferred: PE - Georgia
  • Years’ experience preferred: 8 - 12
  • This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
  • This position does not manage others but mentoring experience and capability is required.
