Job Description:

  • Position: Senior Environmental Engineer / Remediation Engineer
  • Location: Sacramento, California
  • Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 annual salary DOE and negotiable plus complete benefits and performance bonus package
  • Regional full service Environmental Consulting specializing in soil and groundwater investigation, remediation and compliance actively seeks seasoned and experienced Environmental Engineer / Remediation Engineer for our thriving Sacramento, CA office.
  • Our Environmental Consulting firm works on a diverse range of environmental investigation and remediation projects for commercial, mining and land fill projects in and around the Sacramento area. This is a long term, full time and career advancing opportunity to join our award winning and prestigious Environmental Remediation Division.
  • This Environmental Engineer will participate in broad range of environmental consulting duties pertaining to remediation system design and implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair, and other environmental engineering duties. This Environmental Engineer will also take part in project documentation and reporting; research and develop, cost estimates, equipment specs, and scopes. Will assist with equipment procurement. Provide field oversight to subcontractors; work with remedial system operators and field technicians; and collect and evaluate remedial system performance data. Environmental Engineer must have prior professional experience pertaining to both in office and field work responsibilities.

Environmental Engineer Qualification & Experience Requirements:

  • Environmental Engineer must have ten or more (10+) years of environmental consulting industry experience.
  • Must have prior soil and groundwater environmental assessment/investigation and remediation experience. 
  • Must have Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field required. (Extensive directly related environmental consulting industry experience can substitute the lack of a degree.) 
  • Current Registration as a Professional Engineer, PE or ability to obtain PE License within the first three years of employment is strongly preferred.
  • Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER is strongly preferred.
  • Must have expert knowledge of environmental laws and regulations such as CERCLA and RCRA.
  • Environmental Engineer must have past professional experience performing a wide array of tasks to support environmental investigation and remediation projects including procurement, remedial design, construction oversight, start-up/implementation, QC, data analysis and reporting.

Where remedial design is expected, we typically collect anticipated geotechnical data during remedial investigation to minimize the need for repeated investigation. Typically integrate environmental assessments with site investigations to address ecological and human health risks.
  • Firm has delivered detailed remediation system designs, including pre-design investigations, treatability testing, value engineering, plan and specification packages, engineering cost estimates, and regulatory negotiations to support customer solution strategies. Has prepared and reviewed conceptual and final remedial designs incorporating both traditional and innovative remedial technologies.
