The Role:
A new underground coal mining venture is taking place and a Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to drive the project forward. This Brisbane based role is both family friendly and cutting edge.  The right person will be offered not only a generous salary but also join a tight knit team driven to succeed in the Coal industry. Package exceeds $200,000

You MUST have previous Australian UNDERGROUND COAL mining experience and preferably be in a similar Mechanical Engineering position. As this is a new project you’re required to be self managed and take ownership of your role. You will be setting the benchmark!
 
Qualifications:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
• Equal to 10-15 years experience in Coal mining at senior level  (Essential)
• Underground Mining Preferred (Preferred)
• Proven track record in Australian mining industry
• High communication skills & ability to work within a team
• Be able to strategize, plan and have a proactive approach

Responsibilities: 

• Optimisation for the new mining operation through technical expertise and engineering.
• Assist with progression of construction & production stages through planned strategy
• Assisting with feasibility studies | Risk management
• Contractor management | Budgeting | Overall improvement of project
• Ensuring compliance of contractors & consultants to meet statutory requirements
• Adhere to all policies & procedures 
• Comply with environmental stator requirements

Provide leadership to the effective execution of the construction phase, equipment supply and production stages.
Ensure targets are successfully met.
