Senior Underground Longwall Mechanical Engineer NSW

Our client is a multi national OEM leader, with a strong career opportunity for a Underground Mining mechanical engineer. In this role, you will identify and implement opportunities to improve the reliability of Longwall equipment and oversee the ongoing development of the company throughout the state of NSW. The position will require a solution focused engineer that has the capabilities to not only provide key solutions to key clients underground but also on sell the companies product lines in a consultative sell.

The position is a mix of management and trouble shooting whilst maintaining the relationship with the clients at a high level. This company is also offering the opportunity to step into senior management and become one of the technical advisers nationally. 

Responsibilities include:

• Repair and overhaul scope development, including leading root cause failure analysis (RCFA) 
• Equipment troubleshooting of all types of underground Longwall equipment, auxiliary systems, and controls Design, specification, & selection of machinery re-rates and upgrades, including upgraded flow paths, sealing improvements, bearing & lubrication improvements, and control improvements 
• Equipment start-up support 
• Quality assurance of repairs 
• New machinery specifications 
• Long-term and short-term reliability improvement plan development 
• Major machinery overhaul/turnaround planning & execution support, including repair specification for major components. 
• Solution management to key clients within the Hunter valley 

We are interested in experienced Longwall equipment or underground mechanical engineers with significant plant-based experience in developing and leading machinery asset maintenance programs, operating envelopes, root cause failure analysis, rotating equipment troubleshooting, major machinery overhaul/turnaround planning & execution support, and design specification & selection of machinery re-rates and upgrades.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a base circa $120 -130k (my client will go higher for the right candidate), car and super plus ongoing: training, career development and promotions for high achievers.
