Rare opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to gain experience working on a major advanced mining project in QLD for a world class mining company.

This is an attractive role offering exceptional role diversity and exposure across all facets of Geotechnical Monitoring and control as this project transitions into production; all while maintaining a great work-life balance and the ability to commute from most major East Coast cities on an attractive 8/6 FIFO roster.

As the Underground Geotechnical Engineer your role includes: 

• Geotechnical Mapping, Monitoring Systems, Ground Support Calculations / Design and Stability Analysis.
• Current understanding of mining regulations and operating conditions, especially in OH&S
• Collect, analyse and evaluate Geotechnical data and produce associated reports.
• Assist with design and implementation of optimal stopes, spans and pillar designs.
• Preparation and issuing of ground control designs
• Training of all staff, including contractors/operators in ground awareness
• Liaising with external mining consultants

In order to be considered for this role you should have tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering / Rock Mechanics; combined with a minimum of 2 years experience in an underground mining Geotechnical Engineer role.  Any previous experience in feasibility projects or start-up operations would be highly regarded.
