Principal Environmental Consultant - Infrastructure

This specialist environmental consultancy has comfortable bayside offices and a relaxed but highly productive team of environmental scientists and engineers. After nearly 10 years' in operation, they are strategically expanding their operations to cover consultancy services to the infrastructure and civil construction industries. As a result of this planned growth, they seek a Principal Environmental Consultant to head up the division.

Working closely with the Managing Director, your role will focus on establishing an environmental infrastructure division delivering quality EIA and EMP services to a range of civil contracting firms, developers and Government organisations. To do this your responsibilities will likely include:
  • Business Development tasks including tendering, cold-calling and face-to-face networking
  • Planning and resourcing for projects
  • Liaising with clients and external stakeholders including contractors and statutory authorities
  • Budgeting and finances
  • Team building and recruiting
  • Mentoring and managing staff
  • External reporting for projects and clients
  • Internal reporting including financial reports
To be considered for this role you will have a degree in Environmental Engineering or similar plus significant experience in delivering environmental consulting services to the infrastructure industry. In addition, you will have:
  • Strong business development skills, evidenced by projects won and delivered
  • An excellent understanding of the Victorian civil construction industry
  • Significant technical expertise in the environmental consulting including an excellent understanding of relevant codes and legislation
  • Experience managing both projects and people
