Our client is a leading engineering services provider with its head office in Brisbane. They are looking for an in house commercial lawyer with a minimum of 3 years experience to join their in-house legal team in Brisbane and a minimum of 4 years to join their Sydney team.

The ideal candidate will have gained broad experience in commercial construction, mining, engineering, infrastructure or resources law from a mid-tier or top-tier firm.

As a part of your responsibilities, you will be required to negotiate and draft all forms of contractual documentation which will include, for example (but not limited to):

• Reviewing and amending Australian Standard construction contracts;
• Reviewing general construction contracts and subcontracts for principals, contractors and subcontractors;
• Infrastructure agreements;
• Sales and transportation agreements;
• Joint-venture agreements; and
• Advice in relation to tendering documents.

As well as advising on complex contracts, you will be exposed to other commercial issues such as industrial and workplace relations, professional indemnity and public liability insurance law and other general project management issues. Candidates with any procurement experience will be highly favoured.
