The Company: 
Open cut coal mining operation requires a Short Term Planning Engineer to join their team. A true family friendly environment with solid core values, this is the type of company offering you the chance to develop further and excel in your mining career. While being able to maintain a work / life balance. 

Location is close to schools, sporting facilities and shopping centres.

The Role:
  • Provide sufficient detail in mine plans covering dig, dump areas and transition to have adequate support and controls on the operations on a short term basis 
  • Ensure Mine plans adhere to the company's Mining operation plans and any other statutory limitations 
  • Support geological staff in quantifying and maintaining reserves for the company's Mine sites to JORC standards 
  • Assist with the ongoing Government Development Application process 
  • The production of timely and accurate plans that are matched to budget 
  • MOP and final landform and meet compliance with all external agencies 
  • Report to senior management any exceptions against budget and KPIs 
  • Have a high involvement in drill and blast design layout procedures 
  • Adhere to HSEC requirements 
Education and Experience:
  • Degree Qualified – Mine Engineering or similar 
  • Equal to 2 years experience in Coal and or Hard rock mining 
  • Project management experience 
  • Prior planning experience is essential 
  • Software applications such as Vulcan and Minex 
  • Problem solving skills 
Package:
  • $170-200K base + Bonus and relocation
