Our client is currently seeking a Geotechnical Superintendent for a project in Australia
Responsibilities:
Manage and ensure regular inspection of underground reporting of status and ground support/control recommendations.
Preparation and review geotechnical engineering plans ensuring underground operations are accessible and safe to work in.
Manage the geotechnical factors of safety, design specifications, support requirements, and remediation works.
Supervise the collection of data and design.
Implement rock stress monitoring, closure and ground movement monitoring.
Plan and develop research and implementation of geotechnical engineering in accordance with the legislative environment to identify challenges and opportunities.
Implementation, review and update of the Ground Control Management Plan for each of the respective mining operations.
Encourage, advise and assist the development of geotechnical engineering to improve the benefits of the operation and safety of the mining crews.
Manage the provision of technical support to underground mine backfill operations.
Manage the geotechnical evaluation of underground stability support requirements; supported and unsupported span estimation; dilution and ore loss estimation; caving potential; stress measurement and monitoring; and, remediation works.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geotechnical Engineering or Mining Engineering, specializing in rock mechanics or geotechnical engineering.
Other qualifications in management, mine manager’s certificate, Masters in Geotechnical Engineering desirable.
Five or more years of experience in underground Geotechnical Engineering
Excellent software skills.
