Inventory Control Supervisor

  • Experience in inventory control, responsible for managing 3 inventory controllers.
  • Previous experience in this field of specialisation beneficial, currently on a bespoke system but migrating to diafactory.
  • A large diamond mining concern requires your experience in inventory control, responsible for managing 3 inventory controllers.
  • Previous experience in this field of specialisation beneficial, currently on a bespoke system but migrating to diafactory.
  • Oversee the issuing and returning of diamond parcels to and from production workers, using the inventory control/logistics software. 
  • This means keying in data, scanning barcodes, counting and weighing diamonds that are processed during the production activities. 
  • If the need arises this person will be expected to issue and return parcels to and from production workers.
  • There are currently 3 people in inventory control who issue and return the parcels to and from production workers.
  • Applicants must have strong supervisory skills to manage this team and understand the workflow of the diamonds in the production process. 
  • This person will need to actively co-ordinate / communicate production needs and priorities to the production floor. 
  • This means handing out stones according to schedule and being assertive to polishers and explaining the needs, keeping stock levels in all areas under control. month.
  • This person will be trained in the various production processes and does not necessarily have to have diamond experience, although this could be a bonus. 
  • They must have strong supervisory and computer skills. 
  • The office they will work in will be with the 3 other inventory controllers and overlooks the production floor.
