Leading engineering company seeks the skills of a Senior Inspector for Ducting, Dampers, Expansion Joints and Supports

Job Specification

The purpose of the role is to supervise inspectors and quality activities associated with the installation of boiler draft plant such as Flue Gas duct, hot & cold air duct, dampers, expansion joints, supports etc.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Within the limits of the project policies and procedures the Inspection Supervisor has the responsibility and commensurate authority to accomplish the following duties:

• Plan inspections

• Supervise and maintain surveillance over QC Inspectors

• Ensure inspections carried out to ITP’s and procedures

• Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results

• Ensure inspection records are maintained

• Perform inspection in accordance with procedures and industry practice

• Be familiar with tools and equipment and proficient in their use

• Ensure condition and calibration status of measuring equipment

• Ensure proper reporting of inspections to defined acceptance criteria

•  Ensure timely and progressive compilation of quality dossier/data books

Key Requirements

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• Five years satisfactory experience as an inspector

• Two years supervisory experience in fabrication / construction of power, petrochemical, mining, or process plant.

• Extensive experience in the installation and quality control flue gas duct, hot & cold air and associated ducting’s, dampers and expansion joints and supports.

• Extensive experience in working to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) installation instructions.

Education

Suitable candidates must possess a combination of the following minimum qualifications and skills: Served a trade as a millwright or fitter and turner.

Self motivation, computer literacy skills, effective interaction abilities, communication skills, problem solving skills, accuracy and methodical work ethics. Ability to work independently, under pressure and focus on detail and procedures.
