FIFO - Multibillion Dollar Project

Our client is a global network of engineers and associated professionals who have been awarded a multibillion dollar construction package to develop a Port facility to enhance the exportation capacity of Iron Ore.
 
This venture is part of the large scale development of the area aimed at increasing production from the Pilbara mines to 220 to 330 million tonnes annually by 2016. As the Area Superintendent you will play an integral part of the construction process in its entirety. This will be an interesting and rewarding project to deploy your skills and experience, apply now and take advantage of this exciting opportunity.  
 
Reporting directly to the Deputy Construction Manager & Area Superintendent the ideal candidates must demonstrate leadership and commitment to quality assurance measures and the implementation of the HSE procedures from an SMP perspective. This also includes the supervision of contractors to ensure that the design, technical and quality standards of said projects are achieved safely and according to time and budget.
 
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
 
Meeting project objectives⁄deadlines
Field supervision, planning, quality monitoring, coordination and construction management
Meet project deadlines and ensuring HSE standards.
Monitor the work of contractors and consultants to ensure contract and project objectives are achieved 
Maintain documentation relating to work on the contract
Supervision of any extra works by contractors and preparation documentation verifying completion of the work and counter sign contractor's hourly works time sheets

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
 
A minimum 5 years experience in similar role.
A minimum 5 years experience working on EPCM projects. 
Engineering trade or project engineering background
Excellent Communication skills.
A proven track record working on high value projects in excess of $200 million.
Previous SMP experience especially with regards to materials handling equipment (stackers, re-claimers and other heavy machinery modules).
Well-developed interpersonal⁄communication skills including report writing
Be able to work in harsh environments
An ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the contracting party
Be able to liaise with clients on all levels.
 
This position will be offering rewarding rates and a FIFO roster. You MUST also be able to show a proven track record working on Australian projects and be fully coherent with Australian standards.
