Claims, Variations and Client Experience
A large EPCM with a number of projects underway with large international client requires a commercial Contracts Manager. This will encompass work packages in the civil, SMP, E&I, I&C fields of construction. You will need to manage the contracts planning and resources covering tender and award while also managing the claims and variations so good communication and negotiation skills are a must.
This role covering large billion dollar client projects is offering a minimum 12 months employment on a contract basis, as they handle claims and variations activities and manage a large team of contracts admin and engineers in a Perth base.
This particular role will oversee the contract award activities. Other duties will include (but will not be limited to):
Provide total contract support to the project.
Evaluate tender and quotation responses.
Draft and negotiate terms and agreements with all contracts vendors and suppliers.
Manage internal and external stakeholder and project relationships.
Streamline and improve contract management process.
Maintain records of contractor performance.
Provide technical and contract expertise to project team as required.
Reporting to the Contracts and Procurement Manager this Perth based role will be responsible for administration of contracts during the construction phase. Overseeing the Contracts Management by the EPCM contractors and also heavy interaction with the client, and hence good EPCM process and claims management experience in essential. The main focus for the Contracts Manager will be to ensure all contracts are compliant with legal statutes and adhere to all terms agreed by the contractors, vendors and suppliers concerned. The role will play a key part in maintaining all procedures relating to tendering, contract evaluation, contract administration and claims negotiation.
As an ideal candidate you will possess:
Previous Contracts Management Experience of 5-8+years
Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce or engineering
A successful track record in working on high value projects (EPCM).
Strong leadership, drafting, communication and organisational skills.
A high level of commercial acumen coupled with an acute ability for risk mitigation.
Strong negotiating skills and experience
