The suitable candidate will have the following attributes:
- A degree in Mining Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution;
- 7-10 years experience in the Australian underground coal mining industry;
- Capabilities in mine scheduling and a history in either geotechnical or ventilation branches of mining engineering;
- Knowledge of regulatory approval requirements and an ability to deliver them;
- Excellent communication abilities and proven experience in the supervision of small teams; and
- A demonstrated commitment to ensuring health and safety of personnel under your responsibility.
This position is a residential role. Employees of Whitehaven Coal enjoy living in the growing rural communities of the Gunnedah and Narrabri area and have access to a range of sporting and recreational pursuits.
