Strategy & Development Manager II

[Company] is seeking a Strategy and Development Manager. This position will reside at the corporate office in Las Colinas (Irving), Texas. 

[Company] is one of the largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry in North America. Our companies produce a broad range of building materials, including cement, aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, concrete pipes, pavers, tiles and clay bricks.  Lehigh Hanson is part of the[Company] , the global market leader in aggregates and a prominent player in cement, concrete and other downstream activities. [Company] employs some 54,000 people at 2,600 locations in around 40 countries.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Identify and analyze possible acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other potential business combinations
  • Interface with the Company’s executive and senior leadership, transaction advisors and acquisition targets
  • Develop and negotiate transaction terms
  • Lead and conduct due diligence on potential transactions
  • Prepare financial, qualitative and valuation analyses and supporting documents
  • Lead special initiatives for corporate senior executives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree required
  • Four to five years progressive transaction experience with corporate development, transaction advisory services and/or investment banking
  • Prior due diligence experience required, particularly financial due diligence
  • Comprehensive understanding of valuation methodologies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong accounting & finance, communication and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Team player with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities and projects
  • Proactive approach to learning new skill set and accelerated learning curve
  • Travel and work schedule flexibility
  • Ability to understand and evaluate contracts and other legal agreements
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
