Accounts Receivable Deductions Manager

[Company] is seeking an Accounts Receivable Deductions Manager. This position will reside at the corporate office in Irving, Texas. 

The Accounts Receivable Deductions Manager will be responsible for the resolution of customer payment discrepancies in the North America Shared Service Center Accounts Receivable department across all product lines. This includes establishing standards of excellence for the team and using KPIs to measure and report results versus standards. The Accounting Manager I (Deductions) will optimize customer relationships and provide support collaborating with Sales and Credit to achieve excellent customer service while driving continued improvement efforts to achieve efficiency and quality gains.

Our companies produce a broad range of building materials, including cement, aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, concrete pipes, pavers, tiles and clay bricks.  Lehigh Hanson is part of the[Company] , the global market leader in aggregates and a prominent player in cement, concrete and other downstream activities. Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Manage the customer payment discrepancy resolution efforts in NAM across all product lines. Annual volumes estimated at 1.6 Million invoices valued at $4 Billion. Work across 3 different ERP systems and over 24 front end systems, with a focus on building a single SAP platform in the future
  • Manage a staff of 4 - 6 responsible for the timely resolution of customer payment discrepancies in accordance with company guidelines and deadlines, focusing on optimizing customer relationships.
  • Work closely with Sales, Credit and external customers assisting in problem resolution in a timely and professional manner.
  • Further standardization efforts across payment application processes and with Operations/Sales, and/or Credit, reducing the number of payment discrepancies, improving quality and gaining efficiencies.
  • Lead the team with a customer service mentality and ensure an environment of continuous improvement, focusing on the end to end process. Create, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), enforcing accurate and timely reporting.
  • Work closely with NAM IT to improve upon the AR systems/applications landscape as well as increasing functionality
  • Enforce strict compliance to internal controls and adherence to company policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or business related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 10 years of related experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Credit
  • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Solid project management and administrative skills
  • Proven track record in managing people, meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively as part of a team are essential
