Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is located in Solon, Ohio and provides functional, safe, and cost effective designs from specifications for Robbins equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs Robbins product line of equipment, being innovative and specification compliant, considering all relevant safety regulations.
• Prepares design calculations to substantiate function and fitness of products, and prepares description of design elements as needed.
• Participates in design reviews scheduled by Project Engineers.
• 10-15% domestic/international travel to participate in technical project meetings and/or to inspect and troubleshoot machinery at jobsites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of design engineering experience, preferably in heavy machinery or construction equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and Solid Edge (3D) design and drafting software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in Finite Element Stress Analysis.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical controls and PLC, tribology, geology, rock mechanics, mining, and civil engineering a plus.
