Description

  • We have an immediate need for a Sales Representative based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area to cover the Eastern MN, Eastern IA, and Western WI territory, reporting to the Area Sales Manager.

Job Summary:

  • The position is held by individuals with a sustained record of sales achievement and a complete knowledge of the company’s products, policies, and procedures. Sales Representative to existing and potential major customers for the organization’s products or services. Cultivates and maintains favorable ongoing business relationships with direct customers, contracting firms, and architects who specify and purchase our company’s products through our direct customers. Further adds value to the company’s relationship with direct customers by acting as a market source of business leads and initiatives for these customers. Very important source of marketplace intelligence for National Gypsum Company as it relates to competitive activity and recommended strategic responses.

Major Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

  • Promote [Company] products to exceed assigned objectives for volume and price.
  • Develop strong relationships with product specification influences; i.e. dealers, subcontractors, builders, architects, and thereby control the sales of our products.
  • Develop, implement, and adopt territory sales plans based on ongoing analysis of market conditions which assess opportunities for competitive advantage consistent with company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with sales management, demand management, marketing, and manufacturing.
  • Complete market segmentation analysis and employ as a basis for territory sales plans.
  • Investigate, evaluate, report and remedy customer service issues pertaining to complaints, credit problems, carriers, sales tools, etc., ensuring customer satisfaction consistent with [Company] objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or significant expertise in prior work experience.
  • A minimum of two years successful field sales experience, preferably in the building materials industry.
