Raw Materials and Chemicals Maintenance Coordinator

Position Description   

  • As a Maintenance Coordinator in the Raw Materials and Chemicals department, the incumbent will have overall responsibility for supervising, organizing, directing, and coordinating the Maintenance Process within the department to maximize efficiency and effectiveness and to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Additionally, the incumbent will be actively involved in planning and executing a maintenance plan that minimizes ship demurrage. The Raw Materials / Chemicals Maintenance Coordinator is also responsible for leading the Risk Assessment Process used in determining the department's yearly R&M budget with input from the Department Superintendent, Process Area Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisors, and Service Support Groups.

Basic Qualifications    

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering with 4 years of maintenance leadership experience, OR a high school diploma/GED plus 10 years of maintenance leadership experience.
  • 6 years experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with financial budgeting and cost accounting.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills in safety and human relations.
  • Proven ability to influence, persuade, and motivate subordinates including addressing and improving poor performance of individual team members.
  • Ability to handle first step grievances in a manner that protects the company interests and the rights of the employee(s).

Preferred Qualifications          

  • Four year degree preferred but not required.
  • Maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with, and/or strong knowledge of, labor contracts and agreements.
  • Experience with P&L responsibilities desirable.
