Plant Manager - Underground Mining Asset Management

Our client is an Australian contracting group operating in the areas of Mining and Civil Construction. With offices throughout Australasia, they employ thousands of people to work on major projects and they have a reputation of delivering high standards of work and innovative solutions.


They are currently seeking an experienced Plant Manager with 10+ years’ experience working with major underground mining assets and mobile plants.


As the Plant Manager, you will be required to convert the Underground Mining strategic plan into asset management practices and provide safe, reliable, cost effective and productive mobile plant to the operations team within the underground mining business.


Your responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to;

• Systems implementation for the delivery of asset management and maintenance operations to the underground mining business;
• Coordination and implementation management of effective plant policies;
• Ensuring that the maintenance of the mining business mobile plant is carried out safely and efficiently, delivering a high level of operational availability;
• Ensuring that the changes in technology are recognised and adopted in the areas of mobile plants;
• The development of a safety first approach to the operation and maintenance of Mobile Plant and equipment within the Underground Mining Business;
• Efficient delivery of asset management and maintenance strategies within the Underground Mining Business, including depreciation make up and fleet mix; and
• Delivering the desired financial outcomes for the Underground Mining Business – Return on Capital and budgeted costs;

In order to be successful, you will need to have had experience in the effective training and development of staff and employees, as well as be able to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. It is essential that you have;

• Relevant degree qualifications
• 10+ years experience in a similar role
• Strong commercial acumen
• Experience working on underground operations
• Experience working in the Contractor environment, preferably Mining Contractors
• Australian experience.
