Construction Manager

The client is seeking the services of a highly experience Construction Managers who can bring the knowledge and capability and mix it with an approach that will effectively manage the employees who are engaged to complete the construction. This position has a focus on ensuring compliance and an auditing perspective.
 
You will be proficient in working with adopting a style for getting the best from your team, working closely and effectively to support and guide their activities and monitor project scope.
 
As well as being technically proficient, you will also be competent in commercial disciplines such as planning, cost control and contracts administration.  
 
Responsibilities and duties will also include, but will not be limited to:
 
Managing aspects of purchasing, expenditure and budgets
Managing all aspects of the project management plan
Administration of contracts and management of subcontractors
Managing cost related forecasting and analysis
Ensuring all quality and environmental standards are met 
Liaising between the Engineering and site based Construction team
Managing all aspects of corporate and HR compliance
Manage industrial relations in accordance with the defined project plan 
Proactively manage and promote the project safety plan to maintain our 'zero harm' culture
 
As an ideal candidate you will have already handled construction projects which have exceeded $500 million in value either working for an EPCM consultancy or a large construction or engineering company. Preferably you will have extensive Australian experience coupled with some time spent overseas.  You will report directly to the Project Manager but will be responsible for the activities and most importantly safety of a large construction team.
 
You will need to possess:
 
At least 5+ years experience as a Construction Manager working for a large contractor or EPCM
Previous Mining and Resources experience (this is essential)
A proven track record of delivering high value, $multi-million projects
Experience of managing large construction crews
