Environment & Community Officer

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage all environment and community aspects of project development and operations. You will lead a team of professionals working in accordance with the environmental management plan to meet all regulatory requirements across both sites including the rehabilitation site and CHPP.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for monitoring and reporting, carrying out regular inspections for water, noise, blasting, air quality, soils, contractor management and in particular, community interaction.
  • You should have a good understanding of NSW State and Federal environmental legislation and compliance requirements to produce quality environmental documentation.
  • You will liaise with operations personnel, contractors, communities, local stakeholders and government departments.
Skills and Experience:
  • Suitably degree qualified in Environmental Science / Engineering, or Natural Resource Management.
  • 3+ yrs experience in a similar mining operation either Underground or Open Cut Coal.
  • Experience in developing  environmental management systems within standardised frameworks.
  • You will have working knowledge of NSW legislative requirements including planning approvals and sustainable development principles.
