Engineering Geologist

Engineering Geologist required to join a strong and results focused team working on challenging projects focusing on pit and spoil slope stability projects in structurally complex conditions for one of Australia's deepest and most structurally complex open pit coal operations, operated by this leading contractor.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager you will take responsibility for pit and spoil slope stability and the monitoring of structurally complex pit walls.
  • You will with mine planners and production personnel to provide geotechnical advice for the daily operation of the open pit.
  • Provide geotechnical input into mine design, production sequencing, stope design and capital infrastructure excavations.
  • Maintain optimum development ground control standards.
  • Review ground control performance with regard to design and operational best.
  • Maintain and optimise hazard management systems pertaining to excavation stability including hazard management plans, minimum ground control design and installation standards.
  • Manage and administer ground control contractors.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in an open pit coal environment.
  • Degree qualified.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • This role is 5/2 residential roster and a competitive remuneration package is offered, including bonus scheme in addition to other attractive employee benefits. This is a unique opportunity to join an outstanding mining operation  located in Hunter Valley, NSW.
