Open Pit Geologist

Our client is a leading growth-focused Australian mid-cap gold producer with various Australian gold projects across QLD and WA, a defined growth pathway, significant & exciting exploration potential and a strong financial position. THE ROLE Reporting to the Chief Geologist your responsibilities include- Geological activities including geology projects Assisting with mine forecasting and scheduling processes Develop geotechnical monitoring programmes and budgets, including forecasts relating to geological requirements. THE CANDIDATE  For success in this position you require- High commitment to safe working practices at all times Tertiary qualifications in geology or a related field, suitable for full membership to the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Previous exposure to and working knowledge of Surpac is ideal, but not essential. Experience with Mapinfo would be highly advantageous Prior work experience in the open cut mine geology is essential, minimum of 3 years post graduation Proactive approach and drive and commitment to deliver results Well developed written and oral communication skills With a background in Mine Geology, the successful candidate must have the drive and ability to work autonomously, deliver results and to contribute to development of ongoing resources and reserves.  This is a contract position commencing immediately, however the employer is willing to consider a permanent position for candidates willing to relocate to QLD.
