A dedicated Engineering Business has been established and this new structure consolidates the Company’s extensive engineering capabilities and provides a dedicated focus on capturing new market opportunities for projects both above and below ground. Due to significant company growth, our client is now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager who will be able to oversee and support the Electrical Engineering & Construction division of the Company’s Engineering Business Unit in Perth, WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
The Electrical Engineering Manager, will work as part of the Senior Management Team to manage the Electrical Engineering Design and Operations team of the Engineering division. They will provide workable strategies, vision and objectives to build an Electrical Projects design and delivery business that delivers highly successful, profitable, and safety focussed business outcomes.
It will be your responsibility to provide leadership, drive continuous business improvement, implement plans and provide clear direction to achieve company goals and targets. Your responsibly will also include;
- Build a successful and business focussed electrical design and delivery team
- Build a quality order book of electrical projects
- Deliver financially and commercially positive outcomes for the business unit and all projects
- Provide key inputs into the broader business strategy and growth
- Ensure operational project performance that meet or exceed key performance indicators
- Develop strong and positive relationships with stakeholders, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, external service providers, and across peer companies in an industry sector
- We are looking for candidates who will be able to display the following qualities in relation to the mining industry;
Management and direction of design teams;
- All phases of Construction Management with a good knowledge of Electrical aspects
- Understanding of project development and delivery;
- Contract development (briefs, tenders, negotiation and award);
- Contract Management, including issue resolution;
- Stakeholder liaison and reporting; and
- Commitment to high HSE standards.
In order to be successful, candidates will be required to have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or an electrical licence plus 10 years management experience or at least 15 years across electrical construction, operations and maintenance
- Eligible to be a technical and or business nominee on an electrical contract licence
- Experience in electrical design or management of an electrical design team
- Strong operational experience including financial accountability and reporting, experience in developing and implementing business strategy and plans
- Experience in project, contract management, and posses strong commercial acumen
- Positive leadership skills and ability to build a strong and cohesive team
