Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 3 or D), WHMIS Certificate
Experience: 5 years or more
Major Work Area: Repair, Overhaul, Maintenance
Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy trucks, Heavy construction equipment, Forestry and logging equipment, Diesel or diesel-electric mining machinery and equipment, Oilfield drill rig engines
Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Hydraulic transmissions, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Vehicle brake systems, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering
Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Winche, Compressors, Pumps
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
Additional Skills: Keep maintenance reports and documentation
